I’ve been using Acorns for 3 years now and will be closing all of my accounts as soon as they determine if they are going to issue me a refund for a disputed transaction or not. I cannot believe how horrendous the customer service has been. I haven’t had to ask them for any help with anything until today, and by chat and by phone, the customer service representatives have been nothing but dismissive, rude, and incompetent. I ask a specific question and they completely disregard it and they don’t seem to understand English. I have had to dispute transactions with other banks before, and have always been assured immediately that the funds will be back in my account as soon as possible, but not with Acorns. They wouldn’t even cancel the transaction while it was still pending, which is outrageous and unheard of. That is the optimal time to cancel a transaction if there is an issue because it hasn’t settled yet… yet Acorns wants to be more complicated about it??? They refuse to give me an estimated outlook on the solution to the dispute and it doesn’t really seem as if they’re going to be on my side about it, which is horrible for a bank to not put their clients first. I’m incredibly disappointed and can’t wait to leave them forever. Bank and invest elsewhere. Acorns is not a company you can trust.
